Prayers for Moving

Hi All,

Rod is having some success with keeping down the feeding going into his stomach peg.  This liquid food is called TPN and is basically a very glorified version of Ensure.  This will help him gain strength for his rehabilitation.

He sat on the side of the bed for awhile and his therapists had him do some range of motion exercises.  He was awake and was able to watch some TV this afternoon.  He is a little confused about this next move he has to make which is understandable.

Please pray that we will be able to move Rod directly to an acute rehabilitation hospital rather than to an interim facility.

Medicare only allows so many days at his current facility to get him ready for a rehabilitation hospital.  Those days run out at the end of next week.  If he is not able to meet certain criteria he will have to go to an interim facility until he is ready for some more aggressive rehabilitation therapy.  There is always some latitude that therapists and Drs. can use to make these assessments.  We want what is best for Rod obviously and having to move him twice before he can begin rehabilitation for three hours a day doesn’t seem like the best option for him.

Pslam has been spending time with her dad and this has freed Alexis to work on finances, medical bills and finding a new place for Rod.  We will be checking out some places in the next few days.  A couple look very promising.

Hi Alexis. I will pray God gives you wisdom with all the ‘paper work’ and necessary communications with institutions/people — to continue with the on-going responsibilities of medical and financial needs … He is your Helper — and I’m confident that He will guide you through everything. I know it requires a lot of patience — and stamina:)

I praise God for all the great news and for the blog so I can keep up on Rod’s daily improvements. God is so gracious; so abounding in love and faithfulness. I will continue to pray for his physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, for the doctors’ wisdom in, for your financial needs. Praise God for the provisions he has already provided for you.
Always in my prayers. In God’s Forever Grace – Deb (its’ cooooooold here today).
